Conservatives Were Lucky
Says Labour Candidate, Maurice Twoddle
In a recent by-election, Conservatives won. Labour, unfortunately, has a drop of 2.1% from the general election last year.
Maurice Twoddle, the Labour candidate, is reported to have said ‘The Conservatives were lucky. If more people had voted Labour, and less Conservative, they wouldn’t have stood a chance.’
Conservatism seems to have become more popular in this ward in recent years. This change seems to have come about since Margaret Thatcher came into the leadership of the Conservatives. The next general election could see a change and the Labour party will come out on top.
Conservatives Do It Again
Thomas Splung, the Conservative candidate, came out top in a recent by-election. This is the third year that Mr Splung has held this ward, and at each election he has increased his majority by at least 1%.
Labour were second, beating the Liberals by about 10%, whereas Conservatives beat Labour by about 25%! This shows how much of a hold Conservatism has gained and there can be no doubts as to who will hold this ward in the next election.

This is a school essay.
It was written well before the internet. It is full of inaccuracies and assumptions; bad punctuation; bad grammar and a woeful lack of research, but, it is also a first draft. It was also hand-written in an exercise book, none of your fancy electronic gizmos back then.
And don’t forget, it was written by a schoolboy in a time before political correctness.
It is published here for purely selfish vanity reasons, so read it at your own peril and do not expect any great revelations.
