An Erupting Volcano

The rumbling comes from the green mountainside
And soon the sky is alive.
With vivid yellows and reds
While we jump out of our beds
We get dressed fast
But on fire is the grass.

And the orange liquid pours down
It reaches a forest where all is brown
It burns all in its way
And sets fire to the hay
It has reached a farm.
Here comes the dawn
It comes up adding colour
To the devastating scene
But the lava carries on
with burning logs.
And now it reaches the town
Burning everything down.
We have all got away to the blue sea
where we can only watch
The fiery red
Burn up our beds.

Teacher’s Comments

Fair but you have used the basic colours and none of the more striking ones you were introduced to.

Don’t forget, it was written by a schoolboy.
It is published here for purely selfish vanity reasons.
