I went to bed last night
But I could not get to sleep
My socks were on too tight
And my wife, all she do was weep
You see I wear these socks all day
Those socks stay on my feet
At rest or work or play
Those socks stay on my feet
Oh, those sweaty sock blues
They’ve got me down
From my head right down to my shoes
I got those sweaty sock blues
My wife said ‘Fred’
‘Hey, get out of bed’
‘Cause the smell just don’t turn me on!’
So I knew it was time
To move down the line
And I told her that soon I’d be gone
